The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,222 VND/USD on December 16, up 7 VND from the previous day.
 
With the current trading band of  +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,902 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,507 VND/USD.
 
The opening-hour rates listed at commercial banks continued going up.
 
At 8:30am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 22,880 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,150 VND/USD, both up 10 VND from December 15.
 
BIDV raised both rates by 5 VND to 22,910 VND/USD (buying) and 23,150 VND/USD (selling)./.
