The HCM City Department of Industry and Trade is taking comprehensive measures to accelerate digital transformation in line with Resolution 57-NQ/TW and the National Digital Transformation Programme, its deputy director said.

Speaking at the Retail Digitalisation and OneShop Launch event in HCM City on Monday, Lê Huỳnh Minh Tú said that as the world enters the digital economy era, digital transformation has become essential for sustainable development.

It plays a key role in enhancing competitiveness, streamlining supply chains and improving the customer experience.

“The city aims for the digital economy to account for 40 per cent of its GRDP by 2030, with commerce and services, particularly retail, leading the way.”

The department is developing a digital ecosystem for trade and distribution that connects businesses, suppliers, distributors, logistics providers, and consumers through a shared data platform.

Traditional markets and retail channels are also being digitised to help small traders and household businesses adopt cashless payments, e-commerce and modern management tools.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are receiving support through training, consultancy and financial or technological aid to strengthen their digital capacity, Tú said.

The department is also working with technology and investment partners, including One Mount Group, to develop smart retail models, digital supply chains and sector-wide data connectivity, he added.

At the event, One Mount Group, Việt Nam’s leading digital ecosystem, launched OneShop, an advanced platform designed to help shop owners source goods and manage their businesses more efficiently.

According to Lê Thiết Bảo, CEO of One Mount Distribution, Việt Nam has over 5.2 million household businesses that contribute 30 per cent of GDP and employ tens of millions of people but face growing challenges such as electronic invoicing, transparent sourcing and the upcoming removal of the lumpsum tax in 2026, all of which call for stronger management and digital capacity.

In 2020 the company launched VinShop, a platform linking manufacturers, distributors and retail outlets.

It now serves more than 120,000 grocery shops, connects with 500 suppliers and offers 10,000 essential goods.

In 2025 this effort advances with OneShop, which aims to build an intelligent, comprehensive and sustainable retail ecosystem.

It offers new tools for sales management, e-invoicing, business reporting, and credit access, helping small retailers embrace digitalisation and ensuring no one is left behind in the digital transformation.

For distributors and brands, OneShop provides real-time data for tracking, planning and market insight, supporting a transparent and efficient supply chain.

It distributes over 10,000 fast-moving consumer goods from leading brands such as Wilmar, SABECO, Indomie, Liby, and C&S.

Its logistics network handles some 1,000 tonnes of goods a day with a 96 per cent on-time delivery rate.

All this is supported by advanced warehouse and transport management systems that have reduced costs to below 2 per cent and quadrupled productivity.

Bảo said OneShop aims to expand its scale and product portfolio, harness data and AI to optimise operations and personalise business experiences, thereby helping shape the future of Việt Nam’s retail industry.

Tú said the department values One Mount Distribution’s pioneering role in developing OneShop, a digital platform linking manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and consumers.

He added that it reflects strong public–private collaboration and supports the city’s goal of building a transparent and sustainable retail sector. — VNS
