The Ministry of Industry and Trade early this week approved a plan to organise an exhibition in late October to promote the export of products under the One-Community-One-Product (OCOP) programme.
The exhibition is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 4 in Venice Zone, Ocean Park 3, Hưng Yên with around 300 kiosks for more than 150 enterprises to display and promote their OCOP products. There will be the participation of several foreign companies operating in the food processing and garment industry.
VIETNAM OCOPEX aims to create opportunities for companies with OCOP to engage with global production and supply chains and integrate into the international markets.
A conference on promoting the consumption of OCOP products in the modern distribution networks in the foreign countries will be organised within the framework of the exhibition, together with the introduction of a pilot sale section of farm produce online trading platform.
VIETNAM OCOPEX where domestic and foreign enterprises, exporters, distributions and trade promotion agencies will gather is expected to promote the development and help establish value chains for OCOP products in the international markets.
OCOP was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2018 aiming to promote the economic development in rural areas with the focus on developing and establishing value chains for agricultural products of each locality.
As of June 2023, there are more than 9,850 OCOP products with three-star ratings or higher. — VNS
