Exports of animal feed and raw materials to the Chinese market account for 40.7 per cent of Việt Nam's total export turnover of this item.
The information was shared by Phạm Kim Đăng, Deputy director of the Department of Livestock Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at a conference on sustainable farming development in Hà Nội on Wednesday.
Statistics from the General Department of Customs show that the export of animal feed and raw materials reached over US$492.88 million in the first six months of this year, a year-on-year decline of 5.6 per cent.
Exports reached $86.6 million in June, down 6.2 per cent month-on-month and down 10 per cent year-on-year.
China is the largest import market for animal feed and raw materials from Việt Nam.
The export of animal feed to the Chinese market reached over $200.48 million in the first six months of the year, down 16.6 per cent year-on-year.
Việt Nam exports to this market reached $36.59 million in June, down 12 per cent compared to month-on-month and down 24.4 per cent year-on-year.
Following China is the US market with nearly $63.62 million, up 91.8 per cent, accounting for 12.9 per cent, Cambodia $55.54 million, down 33.5 per cent, accounting for 11.3 per cent, Malaysia $49.51 million, down 4.1 per cent, accounting for 10 per cent.
