On September 10, 2021, Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company sent a letter replying the questions from its shareholders regarding the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on CII’s business activities. Accordingly, the Covid-19 has seriously affected most of enterprises, including the companies directly under CII.
For traffic toll activities, CII has suspended the toll collection under the authorities’ requests. Although the suspension of toll collection will not affect the long-term effectiveness of BOT projects, it has directly reduced CII’s revenue and profit in fiscal year 2021.
For real estate activities, the implementation of social distancing measures and the suspension of constructions works under the authorities’ directs have seriously influenced CII’s real estate activities. Therefore, the accounting of revenue, profit in 2021 must almost be transferred to 2022.
The objective difficulties above and the compulsory accounting of management cost, interest expenses and goodwill distribution according to accounting standards have a great impact on CII’s profit accounting in 2021.
