In early September 2019, there were unusual weather phenomena in the Southern provinces of Laos, where the Company's fruit tree project areas are located, managed by the subsidiary Hoang Anh Attapeu Company. The two tropical depressions from the South China Sea caused heavy rains in the Southern provinces of Laos. Besides, the hydroelectric plants here carried out flood discharges to ensure the safety of the dam. These made the water flow in the Se Kong River around the project area of Hoang Anh Attapeu Company to rise abnormally. Water flooded some of the project areas. This has significantly affected the Company's production activities in Laos. In particular, the banana area was flooded about 1,200 hectares. For other fruit trees (mainly jackfruit trees), the flooded area is about 300 hectares.
Therefore, the Company prepared plans and solutions to recover the damage.
