The Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon Global Selling introduced details of their plan on May 5 to support small-and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Vietnam to expand their business globally and build their international trademarks.
According to VIETRADE Director Vu Ba Phu, the programme will select 100 potential Vietnamese SMEs whose products meet Amazon’s requirements to enjoy support from the Amazon Global Selling, VIETRADE, and export partners.
Phu said that the programme aims to help promising Vietnamese SMEs improve their capacity in export through the Amazon e-commerce sales platform.
Additionally, a number of training programmes will be carried out across the nation to equip firms with basic knowledge to successfully sell their products on the international market through Amazon, he said.
Businesses joining the programme will have special benefits including training courses on direct or online selling, in-depth support and consultations, and discounts from local service suppliers during the sales process on Amazon.
At the same time, the 100 selected firms will have opportunities to engage in the second phase of the plan, focusing on developing the trademark of Vietnamese firms and products on Amazon.
A representative from Amazon Global Selling said that through the programme, the firm hopes to bring about opportunities for Vietnamese SMEs to export their products to the world, especially handicrafts, apparel, footwear and leather, and consumer goods.
