Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, speaking at a monthly cabinet meeting in Hanoi on June 2, said he would not allow for another electricity price hike this year as the Government wants to keep inflation at below 4%, the Government news website reports.

Prices of electricity must be kept unchanged until the end of 2018, he said, adding prices of services like education and healthcare can be adjusted but in certain conditions and in the right time.

Money supply and fiscal policy must be properly handled to choke off any price surge, he said.
