Vietjet has received its newest A321 aircraft from manufacturer Airbus at a special ceremony held in Paris in the presence of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, who was on an official visit to France, and leaders of the two countries.

The new aircraft bears the official logo for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietjet’s Managing Director Luu Duc Khanh said: “It is our great honor to have our aircraft emblazoned with the official logo for the 45th anniversary of Vietnam–France diplomatic relations. This is a meaningful tribute that acknowledges Vietjet’s continual efforts to introduce a vivid image of an innovative and integrated Vietnam to the international community. Standing high from profoundly comprehensive collaborations among Vietjet and French partners, we would contribute more to the development of economic – cultural – trade cooperation between Vietnam and France.”

The newly added A321 aircraft is the 43th of a total 121 aircraft that Vietjet ordered from Airbus. The aircraft boasts a wide cabin with a logical configuration that will allow passengers to be extremely comfortable onboard so they can enjoy a superlative flying experience with Vietjet.

The new addition to Vietjet's expanding fleet will allow the airline to pursue its strategy to improve its services and to expand operation to farther destinations in the Republic of Korea, Japan, India, Australia and other destinations in the Asia - Pacific region.

The official logo for the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France was unveiled by the French Embassy in Hanoi on January 24, 2018. The logo features the image of a Vietnamese woman wearing a non la (palm-leaf conical hat) and a red ao dai (a traditional silk dress) holding hands with a French woman wearing a beret and a white blue plaid dress. The logohighlights the friendship and deep understanding between the two countries.

While in France, Vietjet has also signed a comprehensive agreement with Safran - CFM on supplying 321 engines to power the airlines’ 148 aircraft as well as fleet management services, training, R&D programs (for example, in fuel efficiency), and technical management. Safran - CFM will also help the airline develop regional-level support maintenance capabilities. The airline inked a finance agreement with GECAS France on purchasing and leasing six A321 Neo aircraft.

Vietjet is the first airline in Vietnam to operate as a new-age airline with low-cost and diversified services to meet customers’ demands. It provides not only transport services but also uses the latest e-commerce technologies to offer various products and services for consumers. Vietjet is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate.

The airline was also named as one of the Top 500 Brands in Asia 2016 by global marketing research company Nielsen and the “Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” at the TTG Travel Awards 2015, which compiles votes from travelers, travel agencies and tour operators in throughout Asia and Asia’s Best Employer Brand by the Employer Branding Institute and World HRD Congress for many years. The airline was also rated as one of the top three fastest growing airline brands on Facebook in the world by Socialbakers.

Currently, the airline boasts a fleet of 56 aircraft, including A320s and A321s, and operates 385 flights each day. It has already transported more than 55 million passengers on a network featuring 82 routes in Vietnam and across the region to international destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and Cambodia.

Looking ahead, the airline plans to further expand its network across the Asia Pacific region. To prepare for this plan, Vietjet has signed agreements with the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers to purchase more brand-new and modern aircraft.-VNA
