Theo nhận định của OCS  ngành triển vọng tháng 8 là ngành mía đường. Lượng đường nhập khẩu hàng năm đáp ứng tới 20% nhu cầu trong nước. Chính sách bảo hộ bằng quota khiến thị trường đường bị đầu cơ mạnh khi không phải doanh nghiệp nào cũng được cấp hạn ngạch nhập khẩu đường. Nhân tố này cũng với xu hướng tăng của giá đường thế giới có thể khiến giá đường trong nước tiếp tục tăng.
