Thủ tướng Pháp Edouard Philippe đã từ chức, Điện Elysee thông báo. Động thái này diễn ra trong bối cảnh xuất hiện tin đồn Tổng thống Emmanuel Macron chuẩn bị cải tổ nội các để tập trung vào phục hồi kinh tế thời hậu Covid-19.

Theo Sky News, ông Philippe sẽ tiếp tục giải quyết các vấn đề của chính phủ Pháp cho đến khi nội các mới được thành lập.

Ông Philippe gần đây nhận được nhiều sự ủng hộ từ người dân trong bối cảnh nhà chức trách Pháp bị chỉ trích vì cách ứng phó khủng hoảng Covid-19.

Tại Pháp, thủ tướng thường từ chức trước khi quá trình cải tổ bắt đầu nhưng vẫn có thể được tái bổ nhiệm. Ông Philippe từ chức có thể tạo ra một đối thủ chính trị tiềm ẩn đối với Tổng thống Macron khi tái tranh cử vào năm 2022.
