European stocks markets moved lower in early trading Wednesday, adding to the previous session's losses as bank stocks continued to lose ground.
Barclays (UK:BARC 309.25, -4.75, -1.51%) /quotes/comstock/13*!bcs/quotes/nls/bcs (BCS 19.13, -1.15, -5.67%) and Royal Bank of Scotland (UK:RBS 45.68, -0.43, -0.93%) (RBS 14.03, -0.52, -3.57%) were both down 1.3% in London.
Among other stocks in focus, Vodafone Group (UK:VOD 159.35, -0.55, -0.34%) (VOD 24.46, -0.38, -1.53%) slipped 0.4% after announcing plans to sell its entire stake in China Mobile for around $6.6 billion.
The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index (UK:UKX 5,389, -18.36, -0.34%) fell 0.4% to 5,386.86, the French CAC 40 index (FR:PX1 3,637, -6.40, -0.18%) was down 0.1% at 3,642.01 and the German DAX 30 index (DX:DAX 6,109, -8.49, -0.14%) fell 0.2% to 6,107.27
